HKScan is launching Finnish poultry meat exports from Finland to China. Exports are expected to start during the first months of 2024. Today’s export approval for Finnish poultry meat is a new step for the company’s export activities. HKScan currently exports Finnish pork to China.
The products exported to China are mainly chicken toes and wings. Broiler meat is from HKScan’s Rauma unit, which has invested in growth in recent years, also from an export perspective.
Finnish poultry meat is unique by global standards. Meat is responsibly produced. Finland has an excellent animal disease situation, and animal welfare and environmental efficiency of production are taken into account at all stage.
“The possibility to export poultry meat to China is a great, long-awaited step for the whole industry. It is also a proof of the high quality of Finnish meat. The Finnish authorities have been very supportive of the domestic food industry’s export efforts. My warmest thanks to all those who have helped to make this happen," says Juha Ruohola, CEO of HKScan.
