HKScan is streamlining its production operations in Finland by centralising its Eura unit’s poultry packing activities to the company’s production units in Rauma and Forssa, which currently have similar packing activities. Through the efficiency measures, HKScan aims to achieve annual savings of around EUR 1 million as from the third quarter of 2024.
The statutory negotiations have been concluded in the HKScan’s poultry cutting department in Eura and in the Rauma and Forssa production units packaging operations. The statutory negotiations in Eura affected a total of 19 persons for whom HKScan can offer jobs from within the company.
“Our focus remains on production efficiency improvements and tight cost control. In addition, we are optimising our product portfolio in the face of changing consumer demand and investing in commercial efforts. This way, we are building a stronger basis for the future competitiveness of our business. The actions we are taking now are part of this process. The statutory negotiations in the Eura unit were conducted in a constructive spirit and resulted in a joint agreement," says Jari Leija, HKScan’s EVP for the Business Unit Finland.
In addition to HKScan's poultry packing department, Mäkitalo Maistuvat and Kivikylä Kotipalvaamo have operations in HKScan's Eura unit. HKScan products such as HK® and Via® pizzas are produced in Eura.
